On Saturday, May 16th, we announced the commercial launch of eJamming.com in Asia at the 2009 unConference in Singapore to an enthusiastic crowd of judges and conference attendees. In the world of demos, ours is one fraught with danger because we've got a live service hosted in Los Angeles, Jon, our bass player in Sacramento, Mark, a guitarist in San Francisco, with Pam, our singer, there on stage in Singapore in front of something like 500 people and a 6 minute window of opportunity where it all has to work over a fairly high bandwidth connection over a network only 30 minutes ago connected to the conference room. Most people would consider us insane for tempting the demo gods with so many opportunities for things to go wrong.
Fortunately it all went off without a hitch (except for me flubbing my lines and missing Chanita's que but she still nailed the presentation timing regardless) and Pam, Mark, and Jon gave a performance that the crowd couldn't believe was an actual live concert performance over the internet with all three musicians scattered around the world. But honestly that's what the users on eJamming do every day and that's why it's such an incredible service for people who love to play music - and soon enough - for the rest of us who love to listen. This show was our first performance in Asia announcing the April 30th commercial launch of the service and we couldn't have asked for a better venue or event. We'd really like to thank Mohan and the team from e27 who invited us to attend and made sure everything on the Singapore end was setup on time.
There has been some pretty nice coverage about the show that feature us with a few sample links below. Working with eJamming has been a great experience for Proteus Technologies and demonstrates the kind of disruptive technology that we can help our clients implement and deliver to their customers. We look forward to the next version of the service and seeing their service grow.
